Get Hooked At The All American Kid's Fishing Derby
Full Description:
Children 18 months to 12 years old are invited to the City’s All American Kid’s Fishing Derby on Saturday, March 3, to fish off the banks of the pond at City View Park, 101 E. Cheyenne Ave. First cast will be at 7 a.m.
Pre-registration begins, that already started last Feb. 1, is required. Space is limited to the first 80 children.
Children can bring their own poles or use one provided by the Nevada Division of Wildlife. The pond will be stocked by the Nevada Division of Wildlife with 500 rainbow trout. Participants will be able to catch and release or keep as many as three of the fish they catch. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish, smallest fish, first fish, heaviest stringer (three fish caught), and youngest angler. All participants will receive goodie bags. Refreshments will be provided.

To register, call the City’s Parks & Recreation Special Events Office at (702) 633-2418. Prospective participants also can sign up at the Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce Street, or at Silver Mesa Recreation Center, 4025 Allen Lane.
